Grinnell Lake in Glacier National Park

I took this photo I think in the summer of 2003. I do know it was August as my family and I were celebrating the life of my grandfather "Stormin' Norman". No I am not the granddaughter of General Schwarzkopf. My grandfather was as most of his friends would say, "One hell of a guy" with a personality as big as the mountains in Glacier.

This is hands down the most amazing hike I have ever been on. Usually the trails to Grinnell Lake do not open until mid summer and most visitors would plan to hike in August. An interesting read on hiking Glacier is found on Glacier Hikers website. They report that this year as of June 11 there is still snow fall which would indicate the trail is still closed!

Late Summer Marsh by Abstract Impressionistic Artist Marissa Vogl

Late Sumer Marsh
18x24", oil on canvas.
Available for purchase. Please contact me direct thru email, click here.

A modern and abstract view of the marsh land of the American South. This view is within the densely wooded area where black swamp water meets vibrant ferns, palms and grasses. It is a magical place especially when the light filters through the trees. You can smell the sweet warm pluff mud...I know that may not sound pleasant but once you've lived here for a year or two you learn to love it.

Thank you for stopping by!

"Almost Gone" Abstract Landscape Oil Painting by Marissa Vogl

18"x24" Oil on canvas.
Available for purchase. Please email me if you are interested. Click Here.

We just built a new home where I currently look outside to this view. I often struggle with myself and the choices we make. In this case it is the amazing wooded area where we live and the dense population of wildlife that live here with us. This view will soon be developed into homes like ours. I wanted to capture it before it is gone.
