These little paintings pack a whole lot of energy. A still subject matter can come to life with texture and color. I feel like my blueberries may be a little to excited for their own good. Maybe its because of all the excitement hurricane Irene is bring to our area. The little painting of the wild rose and the green apple may be one of my favorite. A lot of texture is in this painting and I like the muted colors that allow the rose and the apple to stand out without shouting.

Club 47 Paintng #17 Blueberries For Hospice

Club 47 #17
SOLD
$4.70 will be donated to Hospice.

We love blueberries in our home, well my daughter and I do! These three paintings would look fun in a grouping together. I love the muted "greys" in the background which allow the blueberry to really take center stage. The color grey in this painting is made up of greens, blues, gold and pinks. Who would have thought there were so many grays, unless of course you have decided to follow interior trends and paint a room in your home grey. I have and I am going with "Smoked Oyster" Valspar. A warm, relaxing color that I will use in my kitchen. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

I have more excuses than all the fish in the sea as to why my Club 47 challenge is obviously going to take me 147 to 247 days to complete. The important thing is... I will complete this challenge come h*!! or high water. :)

I'd like to tell you about the exciting news in my studio. My daughter has started pre-school 3 days a week which allows me 15 more hours a week of painting time. This is a dream come true for my career as an artist! This comes at the most perfect time as I have been accepted as a fellow artist at Michael Mitchell Gallery downtown Charleston on King Street. Michael Mitchell is an amazing interior designer with a heart the size of an elephant and made of gold. You must visit the gallery at 438 King Street!

I hope you stay tuned and share my blog with all your friends as there will be a lot of exciting news and eye candy this fall and winter!
